Girls on the move6

Welcome to Syncope Falls Farm!  We are a family farm, with currently 3 generations working together on top of some of the most beautiful mountains and farmland in Appalachia!  We have been raising fainting (myotonic) goats for more than 25 years and are members of the Myotonic Goat Registry (http://www.myotonicgoatregistry.net/).  We are also members of the New River Valley Sheep and Goat club that now boasts of +250 farms in membership.  For more information on the club, please go to:  https://www.nrvsheepandgoatclub.com

In 2007, we had the privilege of adding Karakachan Livestock Guarding Dogs to our farm.  Deep gratitude is felt to Atila, Sider, and Elena Sedefchevi, and the International Karakachan Dog Association, in Bulgaria for their conservation efforts in preserving the most devoted and pure guardian dogs that we have had the privilege of working with on a daily basis.

News:  We were asked in the fall of 2019 to have our goat herd be part of the National Animal Health Monitoring System (NAHMS) goat study.  We are pleased to announce that results have come back as negative for all 25 goats tested for Salmonella, Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC), and Campylobacter!  We are very motivated to keep raising happy, healthy goats for our family and farm and for yours as well!!
